Gregg Alexander of the 90s alt-rock band New Radicals releases exclusive vinyl record of “You Get What You Give” to benefit the work of When We All Vote in 2022 and beyond
When We All Vote and iconic, 90s alt-rock band New Radicals are coming together to release autographed copies of an exclusive vinyl recording of the song “You Get What You Give.” Gregg Alexander of the New Radicals is donating the records from his 2021 Inauguration performance to When We All Vote, which will be gifted to those who contribute at least $125 or more to the organization. Alexander has also made the personal commitment to donate $125,000 to support the work of When We All Vote in 2022 and beyond.
The 1000 limited vinyl records of “You Get What You Give” will also be signed by lead singer, Gregg Alexander. The inauguration of President Joe Biden is the only time that New Radicals have performed “You Get What You Give” since disbanding in 1999 before releasing their second single later covered by Hall & Oates and Todd Rundgren. Just last month, “You Get What You Give” was named by Edge and Bono when asked what is “the one masterpiece” U2 wished they had written.
“That summer I ran away at 16 in 1986 from Grosse Pointe to LA, my dream was that music could change the world. Even if it’s just a drop in the ocean. I still hope it can in some way by supporting When We All Vote’s urgent and inspiring nonpartisan work”, said Gregg Alexander. “Voting rights affect everyone when over 500 voter suppression laws have been introduced in 48 states since 2020, and some have already passed. Protecting America’s democracy and voting rights is unquestionably one of the most urgent frontlines at which When We All Vote and all Americans stand.”

There is no time to waste to get registered, organized and ready to vote. We are grateful for this generous gift that will not only inspire but help fuel our work as we fight for our democracy.”
When We All Vote and 30 other voting & civil rights organizations committed to organize and turn out voters in the 2022 midterm elections and fight against voter suppression. This year, When We All Vote will work to recruit and train at least 100,000 volunteers to register and turn out voters in their communities, register more than a million new voters across the country, recruit thousands of lawyers to protect voters in the states where the freedom to vote is threatened and educate voters on how to vote safely in their state.
