Valerie Jarrett, Samantha Barry, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Yvette Nicole Brown to Join 19th Amendment Centennial Voter Registration Week of Action

The When All Women Vote Week of Action in partnership with the United State of Women will culminate with #CouchParty, featuring special guests, empowering women to register to vote

(Washington, DC): In honor of the 100th  anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, When We All Vote has partnered with The United State of Women for the When All Women Vote Week of Action. The Week of Action, which began on Monday, August 17th, and will stretch through Thursday, August 20th, focuses on voter registration and turnout, and celebrating the women of color who have fought and continue to fight for their right to vote since the amendment’s passage.

The week will culminate in a virtual When All Women Vote #CouchParty aimed at reaching 300,000 eligible women voters. Special guests at #CouchParty include Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, When We All Vote Board Chair and United State of Women Co-Chair Valerie Jarrett, Glamour Magazine Editor-in-Chief Samantha Barry and actress Yvette Nicole Brown. Volunteers will enjoy a live set from Philadelphia’s own DJ Diamond Kuts while texting eligible voters about registering to vote.

The When All Women Vote Week of Action will feature the following events to provide women with the resources and tools necessary to make their voices heard at the ballot box:

  • Tuesday, August 18: Virtual Panel Discussion

A powerful, intergenerational dialogue in partnership with Girls, Inc. titled, “Unfinished Fights, Unsung Heroes: Centering Women of Color in the Voting Rights Movement” will explore the complicated history of the 19th Amendment. 

  • Wednesday, August 19: Engaging Women Mayors

Focusing on acting at the local level, the Week of Action will feature stories from women mayors, as well as a call to action to encourage mayors across the country to commit to increasing voter participation by joining When We All Vote’s Civic Cities initiative. Eligible voters will also create their voting plan by visiting When We All Vote’s recently launched Voter Resource Hub. 

  • Thursday, August 20: When All Women Vote #CouchParty 

The Week of Action will culminate with a virtual #CouchParty to reach 300,000 eligible women voters using OutVote during a live DJ set by DJ Diamond Kuts. RSVP here.

In response to COVID-19, When We All Vote is leading the fight for fair and safe elections by supporting the expansion of access to vote-by-mail, early in-person voting and online voter registration so every American can make their voices heard on Election Day.
