When We All Vote Announces “My School Votes” K-12 National Voter Registration Training Tour

Washington, DC: Today, When We All Vote announced the launch of a series of trainings across the country for its “My School Votes” program. The tour will build on the program recently launched by When We All Vote with a special message from Co-Chair Michelle Obama to educators across the country to engage and register their students to vote.

Since the launch in July, thousands of teachers and students have responded by joining When We All Vote and starting a voter registration program in their school. With the goal of registering their peers and parents eligible to vote, My School Votes provides guidance on strategic planning, online registration, and state guidelines while providing opportunities for students to lead civic engagement efforts in their schools.

When We All Vote will kick off a national tour bringing together students, teachers, local leaders and special guests to foster civic engagement and develop action plans for ensuring all students and parents are registered to vote. Partnering with When We All Vote to reach educators and students are YMCA, National Board Certified Teachers, Teach for America, and the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers.
