Washington, DC: In case you missed it, When We All Vote is making sure Americans have a plan to vote at thousands of early voting and Election Day celebrations as part of the largest-ever Party at the Polls program. Less than one week until Election Day, When We All Vote and community partners across the country have already hosted more than one thousand events, with thousands more to come through November 3.
As early voting has kicked off across the country this month, flagship Party at the Polls events have included celebrations at:
North Carolina A&T State University, the nation’s largest HBCU, where thousands of students marched to the nearest polling site after being denied an on-campus polling location. When We All Vote Co-Chair Marsai Martin and Ambassador Trinity Tatum showed up and showed out alongside thousands of students who know the power of their voices and refuse to be silenced. Select images of this event can be found HERE.
Detroit, Michigan, where When We All Vote Ambassador Loni Love, Lindsey Hunter and the Detroit Pistons came together for the first day of in-person early voting with basketball, music, giveaways from Dieux Skin and Experiment, free and discounted rides to the polls with Lyft and more. Select images of this event can be found HERE.
Phoenix, Arizona, with Poder Latinx Collective Fund, where voters caravanned to the polls for Vote Early Day with low riders, a headline performance from Noel Torres, food, giveaways from Dieux Skin, free and discounted rides to the polls with Lyft and more. Select images of this event can be found HERE.
Amid record early voting turnout across the country, voters have also shown up together at events led by community partners, including:
- The Gamma Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. making sure the Southwest Dallas County community is registered and ready to vote early, specifically focusing on increasing turnout among Black men.
- Georgia STAND-UP celebrating Georgia’s record-breaking first day of early voting with food, joy and community.
- Campus events at Tufts University, Queens University, Radford University and more celebrating students making their voices heard at the ballot box with the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.
“From North Carolina A&T students making history marching to the polls after being denied a chance to vote on campus to community partners supporting record-breaking early voting turnout in Texas and Georgia, voters across the country are showing up and turning out — early and together. With so much at stake in nearly 80,000 elections this year, voting early is serious business, but it’s also something to celebrate with community and joy. Less than one week until Election Day, we’re excited to continue taking this early voting momentum and energy to the ballot box,” said Kalisha Dessources Figures, When We All Vote Senior Advisor.
Through Election Day, the Party at the Polls program will engage more than 30 million voters at thousands of voting celebrations and through direct outreach. Now in its tenth year, the program is proven to increase local voter turnout by 2–4 percentage points. When We All Vote will also host flagship events around Election Day in Hattiesburg and Jackson, Mississippi, in addition to community parties happening across at least 21 states and 180 events at colleges and universities in partnership with the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. More than one thousand We The Action lawyers have signed up to support election protection, safeguard voting rights and join Party at the Polls to ensure voters can access the ballot box, support those who run into issues casting their vote and make sure every vote is counted.
Voters can find a party near them at WeAll.Vote/Party and make a plan to vote at WeAll.Vote/hub.
