ATLANTA, GA- Tomorrow, Janelle Monae and Angela Rye will headline When We All Vote’s Week of Action voter registration rally at Spelman College for the students, faculty and staff of the Atlanta University Center. This event is in partnership with The Root.
First time voters and students Nailah Reine Barnes and Julius Harrison McAllister III will also participate in the program and share their perspective on why it’s important to register and vote.
When We All Vote is a new national nonpartisan, non-profit organization whose mission is to change the culture around voting and increase participation in this and every election. This initiative was launched by Co-Chair’s Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
During the Week of Action volunteers are hosting more than 2000 grassroots events across the country. The purpose of these events is to recruit more volunteers, educate, register voters, and get them ready to vote every election. Mrs. Obama hosted her first event Sunday night in Las Vegas and will help close out the week with an event in Miami on September 28th.
Yesterday, in celebration of National Voter Registration Day, When We All Vote released a PSA featuring Mrs. Obama speaking about “What’s At Stake” on November 6.

Pittsburgh, PA– In celebration of National Voter Registration Day, When We All Vote Co-Chair Tom Hanks held a Week of Action event in Pittsburgh to help register and fire up eligible voters before Election Day.
Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner, team executive Jim Rooney, and Kiya Tomlin, fashion designer and wife of head coach Mike Tomlin, will join Hanks at this free event at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum.
