Spirit Week

Overview

There’s no better way to show school pride than to get registered and organized as a community. To prepare for critical local elections this year and the 2024 presidential election, My School Votes is asking teachers and students to include civic engagement activities in their school’s spirit week, harvest fest, winter ball, sporting events, and/or homecoming events. Schools also have the opportunity to host these events during the week of National High School Voter Registration Week from October 2-6. All activities should be completed by Friday, November 17. Report your events and voter registration numbers here. Choosing one (or more) of the five activities below will help you promote your voter registration and voter verification at your school and show your school spirit! Below are some simple instructions on how to participate. We are also here to help! If you have any questions contact: [email protected].

ABOUT WHEN WE ALL VOTE AND MY SCHOOL VOTES

When We All Vote is a leading national, nonpartisan initiative on a mission to change the culture around voting and to increase participation in each and every election by helping to close the race and age gap. Created by Michelle Obama, When We All Vote brings together individuals, institutions, brands, and organizations to register new voters across the country and advance civic education for the entire family and voters of every age to build an informed and engaged electorate for today and generations to come.

My School Votes (MSV) builds student-led voter registration clubs in high schools across the country. We’ll give you the training and resources you need to ensure every eligible student in your school is registered and ready to vote each year, every year. Together, we will develop leadership skills, advocate for local issues, create exceptional voter registration campaigns, and launch young people into cycles of life-long civic engagement.
